Diagnostic Radiology Technologist - Per Diem

Role Overview Radiologic Technologists perform diagnostic, therapeutic, or research imaging procedures involving ionizing radiation. They independently conduct radiographic and fluoroscopic exams, prepare and administer medications, and analyze imaging data for interpretation by licensed practitioners. Key Responsibilities Obtain correct patient identification, ensure proper preparation, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality. Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles to ensure patient safety. Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed. Evaluate images for quality and proper positioning; verify data storage and transfer. Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers. Assist practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside radiologic settings such as operating rooms and ICUs. Qualifications & Skills Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. New graduates must obtain ARRT-R certification within six months. Applicants hired after a specified date must complete steps for advancement to level 2 within 24 months. Additional Information The role involves working primarily in clinical environments, adhering to organizational policies, and demonstrating competencies outlined during orientation.
