Job Title

Air Reserve Technician

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position; to verify and analyze on and off equipment, malfunctions, troubleshoot, calibrate, modify, fabricate, test, align, inspect, repair, configure, deconfigure, and load assigned integrated nuclear/conventional weapons delivery systems; and to provide training to reservists in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Duties:

1: Troubleshoots integrated nuclear/conventional weapons systems, electronic and electromechanical components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, subassemblies, Alternate Mission Equipment, and test equipment to determine nature of malfunctions and corrective actions required both on and off equipment.

2: Performs maintenance, repair, inspection, fabrication and modification of integrated nuclear/conventional weapons systems electronic and electro-mechanical components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and their subassemblies for both on and off equipment. Removes/installs integrated nuclear/conventional weapons systems electronic components, fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and subassemblies for both on and off equipment and associated test equipment.

3: Performs pretest, operational, functional, electrical, mechanical, and final testing of integrated nuclear/conventional weapon systems electronic components fire control systems, electro-environmental systems, bomb navigation systems, and their subassemblies both on and off equipment. Tests weapon systems electronic equipment to identify malfunctions. Performs explosive operations, loads and unloads, positions, arms, and safes all assigned nuclear/conventional air munitions and pyrotechnics on assigned aircraft and/or equipment.

4: Accomplishes configuration changes of integrated nuclear/conventional weapons control, launch, release, and suspension assemblies on assigned aircraft and equipment based on mission requirements. Plans and conducts training of reserve personnel, Active Duty and other employees. Controls tools, cleans work area and equipment and completes work control documents in accordance with established procedures.
