Registered Nurse - Perioperative Charge Nurse
Location: California
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Days, starting at 0630, primarily for weekend coverage.
Job Description: The Registered Nurse will act as the Perioperative Charge Nurse, overseeing patient care in the surgical setting while ensuring compliance with established safety and efficiency standards. You will collaborate with surgical teams, manage personnel, and address the needs of patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the nursing staff in the perioperative unit.
- Coordinate patient care and ensure the timely and safe completion of surgical procedures.
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Minimum of one-year current Perioperative charge nurse or relief charge nurse experience.
- Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing.
- Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
- Desired: Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field and two or more years of Critical Care experience.
- Preferred: Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR).
