We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified transportation professional to join our transportation and construction services teams. This position offers the opportunity to support field operations on transportation infrastructure projects throughout Wisconsin, including highway, bridge, and survey projects for WisDOT and local governments.This role combines transportation survey operations with construction inspection responsibilities and is ideal for candidates who enjoy a mix of fieldwork, technology, and collaboration on active infrastructure projects.DescriptionPerform field and office survey tasks, including one-person crew operationsPerform daily construction inspection on WisDOT highway and bridge projectsOperate Trimble survey equipment including SX10/SX12 total stations, R980/R12i GNSS receivers, and TSC5/TSC7 data collectorsProcess field data and create project deliverables using survey and construction software platformsDocument field activities, track quantities, and prepare daily reports using WisDOT-approved systems such as AASHTOWare ProjectConduct or observe material testing including concrete, asphalt, soils, and aggregates in accordance with WisDOT standardsInterpret plans, specifications, and standards to ensure contractor complianceCoordinate with project engineers, contractors, WisDOT staff, and internal teams to resolve field issues and maintain project progressAssist with traffic control reviews, erosion control monitoring, and safety complianceSupport transportation projects for WisDOT and local government clients across WisconsinQualificationsEducation & ExperienceAssociate degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field2-10+ years of experience on transportation, highway, bridge, survey or construction inspection projectsExperience with robotic and GPS survey equipmentExperience with construction inspection practicesAbility to travel throughout Wisconsin, including occasional overnight staysTechnical KnowledgeProfessional Land Surveyor (PLS) License or ability to obtain in the futureCertified Survey Technician (CST) Level 1 or higherWisDOT HTCP certifications (Aggregates, Concrete, Asphalt, Density)AutoCAD/Civil 3D experienceTrimble Business Center experienceUnderstanding of WisDOT transportation design and construction processesExperience with WisDOT fieldwork, inspection documentation, and deliverable creationExperience using AASHTOWare ProjectProfessional SkillsStrong oral and written communicationStrong organization, documentation, and recordkeeping abilitiesComputer literacy, including use of relevant communication, documentation, and file organization softwareStrong math, analytical, and problem solving skillsInterpersonal & Leadership SkillsAbility to multi-task and work effectively in a team-oriented environmentOtherValid driver's license and reliable transportation.Authorization to work in the United States for any employer.
