Step into a contract opportunity supporting students in a vibrant school community near Vail, AZ as a Physical Therapist. This position is specially designed to provide coverage during maternity leave for the second semester, running from January 4 to May 28, 2027. You’ll collaborate with a diverse student population, including preschoolers, elementary-aged children, and two homebound students, managing a caseload of approximately 40-45 students. Your expertise will help ensure continuity of high-quality therapy services during this critical period.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid and current Physical Therapist license
- Experience working in a pediatric or school-based environment
- Strong organizational abilities to manage a varied student caseload
- Comfort working with students at different developmental stages, including homebound children
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and other support staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to support a dynamic school setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and develop individualized treatment plans for students ages preschool through elementary
- Provide direct physical therapy services within school and home environments
- Monitor student progress, track data, and document interventions in compliance with school and legal standards
- Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to integrate therapy into classroom activities
- Offer consultative guidance to staff and caregivers as needed
- Adjust therapy approaches as students’ needs evolve throughout the contract period
