Summary This position is designated as SES, General. USDA structures its SES positions into position levels. This is a position level II with a salary range of $204,122 - $216,010 per year. Exceptions to the salary cap may be considered in certain circumstances. SES employees are also eligible to receive bonuses and performance-based awards. - The Deputy ACIO serves as a principal executive leader responsible for directing the formulation and execution of USDA's enterprise-wide customer experience strategy for IT.
- Leads the development of long-range plans, policies, and governance structures that guide the delivery of customer-facing IT services across the Department's mission areas and staff offices.
- Exercises executive oversight of USDA's enterprise IT service management framework, including multi-tiered service desk operations, major incident management, remote and on-site support.
- Leads initiatives to modernize support operations, improve digital tools for users, promote self-service innovations, and integrate AI-assisted service techniques that enhance reliability and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for evaluating the performance of enterprise customer experience programs using operational data, customer analytics, financial information, and industry benchmarks.
- Represents USDA in government-wide forums and collaborates with executives across the Federal enterprise to advance customer experience improvements, shared service models, and service delivery innovation.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
- Veterans Preference is not applicable in the Senior Executive Service.
- Initial appointments are required to serve a 1-year probationary period.

- Describe your demonstrated experience leading the implementation and delivery of enterprise information technology solutions that support organizational mission objectives and evolving business needs. Examples should include evaluating and deploying secure technologies that support a geographically dispersed workforce, including remote access capabilities, mobile technologies, collaboration platforms, and emerging communication tools.
- Describe your demonstrated experience leading enterprise information technology operations, service delivery, and customer support programs within a large, complex organization. Examples should include overseeing shared services, service optimization initiatives, customer experience improvements, or support consolidation efforts.
