Job Title: Healthcare Services Pharmacist
Job Description

The Healthcare Services Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services in a retail setting while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and pharmacy best practices. This role serves as a trusted healthcare resource by delivering immunizations, medication counseling, medication therapy management (MTM), and other wellness services that improve patient health outcomes. The pharmacist combines strong clinical judgment with outstanding customer service skills to support a positive and safe pharmacy experience for every patient.

Responsibilities

• Provide immunizations and other clinical pharmacy services in accordance with all applicable policies, regulations, and professional standards.
• Conduct medication therapy management (MTM) interventions and comprehensive patient consultations to optimize medication use and outcomes.
• Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy, patient safety, and compliance with Good Faith Dispensing practices.
• Counsel patients on medication use, adherence, potential side effects, and disease state management in a clear and compassionate manner.
• Support wellness initiatives such as immunization programs, flu clinics, diabetes awareness efforts, and other preventative care services.
• Respond to and resolve patient questions and concerns while consistently delivering a high level of customer service.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and local healthcare providers to support coordinated care.
• Ensure full compliance with all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including controlled substance laws.
• Oversee prescription verification and dispensing processes to maintain safe and efficient pharmacy operations.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, including patient records and clinical service notes.
• Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and professional development activities to stay current with clinical and operational best practices.

• Active Licensed Pharmacist in Utah, in good standing with the state board of pharmacy.
• BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
• Certified Immunizer with the ability to administer a variety of immunizations and clinical pharmacy services.
• Demonstrated experience in prescription verification and dispensing oversight with strong attention to safety and accuracy.
• Strong patient counseling and medication management skills, including adherence support and disease state education.
• Knowledge of controlled substance laws and Good Faith Dispensing practices.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and patient care practices in a retail or similar environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on clear, empathetic patient interaction.
• Proven customer service skills and a patient-focused mindset.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities with high attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

• Retail pharmacy experience, including direct patient interaction and point-of-sale workflows.
• Experience providing medication therapy management (MTM) services.
• Experience administering a broad range of immunizations across different patient populations.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management systems and related technology platforms.
• Multi-state pharmacist licensure.
• Prior experience with prior authorization processes and coordination with payers.
• Professional and compassionate communication style that builds trust with patients and healthcare partners.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with pharmacy team members and other healthcare professionals.

This role operates primarily in a retail pharmacy environment that is fast-paced, patient-facing, and highly service-oriented. The pharmacist works on-site, using pharmacy management systems and other clinical tools to verify prescriptions, document services, and manage patient records. The position involves frequent interaction with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers at the pharmacy counter and in designated consultation areas. The work requires standing for extended periods, managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapting to fluctuating patient volumes throughout the day. Professional attire appropriate for a retail healthcare setting is expected, along with adherence to all safety and regulatory standards related to pharmacy practice and immunization administration.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of West Jordan, UT.

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in West Jordan,UT.
