- Implement and oversee quality control procedures to guarantee the consistent production of high-quality metal tubing products.
- Conduct thorough inspections of materials, in-process components, and finished goods to assess compliance with G&L Tube's quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing and engineering teams to identify areas for process improvement.
- Analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks, and propose effective solutions to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Lead investigations into product non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Utilize various quality tools and methodologies to perform root cause analyses, and work with cross-functional teams to develop corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain and update quality-related documentation, including inspection records, test reports, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant quality management system requirements and certifications.
- Utilize statistical techniques to analyze data and monitor key quality metrics.
- Generate reports and present findings to management to support data-driven decision-making.
- Provide training and guidance to production personnel on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to quality assurance within the aerospace realm.
- Ensure that G&L Tube Company remains in compliance with all applicable quality and safety requirements in accordance to aerospace protocol.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications in quality assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) are a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality engineering role within an aerospace manufacturing environment, preferably in metal tubing or related industries.
- Strong understanding of quality management principles, statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and quality improvement methodologies. Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100 or other quality management systems is highly desirable.
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to draw meaningful conclusions and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of quality in all products and processes.
- Proven track record of solving complex quality issues and implementing effective preventive measures.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
