Analytical Chemistry Technician

On-Board Services is hiring an Analytical Chemistry Technician in Madison Heights, MI. Position type is a 1 year contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need. Job location is Madison Heights, MI with a 1st shift.

Benefits include 401K, dental insurance, life insurance, medical insurance, vision insurance, and PTO. Compensation is $25-$29/HR.

Responsibilities include performing testing following SOP, QC, ASTM or similar related test method/procedures, operating analytical equipment or devices (ICP, IC, XRF, SEM, GC-FID, HPLC, etc.), reviewing data for quality trends and proper reports, utilizing Microsoft Office and digital platforms (LIMS), maintaining proper housekeeping (5S) and safety, checking e-mails for questions, and following quality procedures for log and other record keeping.

Qualifications include 1-year of demonstrated laboratory experience, computer literate in Microsoft Office products (word, excel, and PowerPoint), ability to understand and follow experimental protocols for preservation of data, comfortable and able to work with toxic chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols, the ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day, associates or bachelor's degree in a technical field, experience working in an analytical laboratory desired, able to work in teams and in a fast-paced environment, and skills with ICP, IC, XRF, SEM, GC-FID & HPLC desired.
