EHS Specialist

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist Location: Raritan, NJ 08869 Duration: 1+ year contract Pay Rate: $38.00/hour - $42.00/hour Position Summary We are seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support workplace safety, environmental compliance, and employee health initiatives. This role is responsible for helping maintain safety programs, conducting inspections, supporting incident investigations, managing compliance documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization. Responsibilities Support site environmental, health, and safety programs and policies. Conduct routine safety inspections and compliance audits. Assist with investigations of workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses. Help develop and deliver employee safety training. Maintain EHS records, permits, and compliance documentation. Monitor safety metrics and assist with reporting requirements. Support hazardous waste and biohazard waste management activities. Participate in Safety Committee meetings and site safety initiatives. Coordinate emergency equipment inspections and safety supply management. Assist with emergency response activities as needed. Promote compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations. Qualifications Associate degree in Environmental Health, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field required. 2–4 years of EHS experience required. Experience in manufacturing, laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical, or medical device environments preferred. Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental health and safety regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs and ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to work in office, laboratory, manufacturing, and warehouse environments.
