Responsible for planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. Participates with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. Analyzes and resolves network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.Required Education:High school diploma or GED or equivalentRecommended Education:Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.Required Work Experience:High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a diploma/GED.Required Certifications:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) - The Cisco Learning Network1. Designs and deploys organization LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware. 2. Configures networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling organization objectives and processes. 3. Oversees new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. 4. Monitors network performance, troubleshoots problem areas, and provides network performance statistics and reports. 5. Collaborates with executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs. 6. Performs server and security audits, and system backups and recovery. 7. Ensures network connectivity of all servers, workstations, VoIP equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances. 8. Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records. 9. Participates in managing all network security solutions. 10. Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information. 11. Performs other duties as assigned.
