Assistant Professor - Pharmacology

The Department of Pharmacology at the University of Minnesota invites applications to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position. This is a 12-month, full-time appointment. Our current faculty direct impactful and well-funded research programs focused on discovery in cancer, immunology, infectious disease, and neuroscience, as well as computational and structural biology. We seek to enhance these areas of strength over the next several years by recruiting individuals who can expand the research portfolio and initiate new collaborations within our department and across the University of Minnesota.
The Department of Pharmacology is a vibrant and collegial community located on the beautiful Minneapolis/St. Paul (“Twin Cities”) campus of the University of Minnesota. We benefit from the resources of a world-class medical school and large health sciences community, as well as strong relationships with institutional partners including the Masonic Cancer Center, Center for Immunology, Medical Discovery Team on Addiction, Institute on Infectious Diseases, and Institute for Therapeutics Discovery and Development. We direct a popular undergraduate minor program as well as PhD and Masters programs in Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics, a cross-departmental NIH-supported training community of 80+ faculty trainers, 60+ graduate students, and an engaged alumni network. Required qualifications include a PhD in the biomedical sciences and relevant postdoctoral training. Candidates must be a US citizen or be able to secure permanent resident status. Individuals from historically underrepresented groups in STEM and medicine, including women, minorities, qualified persons with disabilities, and protected veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
