Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) Hourly Rate: $43.50 - $43.90/hour Weekly Base Pay: $1,740.0 - $1,756 Location: Salem, NH Contract: Local, 14 weeks, starting 7/27/2026 Shift: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM Schedule: 8 hours/day, 5 days/week Position Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant will primarily provide outpatient rehabilitation services in an in‑home setting for the older adult population. The in‑home setting could be a patient’s private residence or a patient’s room in an independent living facility. The assistant evaluates and treats patients in the most functional environment, namely the patient’s home, under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist. This position offers a flexible schedule and work environment in various settings. Responsibilities Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences, and other required meetings as a representative of physical therapy, under the direction of the physical therapist. Ensures adherence to department and patient treatment schedules, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements, and work‑related meetings. Works with other rehabilitation team members to implement programs and activities consistent with each patient’s needs and capabilities. Acts as an assistant to the Physical Therapist when the therapist performs tests, evaluations, and complex procedures. Instructs patients, families, and caregivers in the skills and techniques of the physical therapy treatment program under supervision. Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated. Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment as necessary. Consistently puts patient service first, ensuring quality care in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that respects patients’ needs and rights. Implements patients’ individualized treatment plans as established by the primary physical therapist. Provides individualized physical therapy treatments including but not limited to: Therapeutic exercise (aerobic capacity conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, and endurance training) Functional training Manual therapy Airway clearance techniques Integumentary repair and protection Use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent, and mechanical modalities Health and wellness Falls risk interventions Chronic disease management education Specific Educational / Vocational Requirements Must have a valid license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license eligibility. Must have a valid driver’s license or reliable, independent transportation to and from patients’ residences. Job Skills Good organizational and time‑management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Compliance Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA. Participates in required orientation and training programs. Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non‑compliance to supervisor, Compliance Liaison or to the Compliance Officer via the Integrity Hotline. Cooperates with monitoring and audit functions and investigations. Participates, as requested, in quality assurance and process improvement activities.
