Data Engineer

Data EngineerDevelopment Sciences Informatics is seeking a talented and experienced Data Engineer to build core infrastructure and solutions for data search and integration. As a Data Engineer, you will design, develop and deploy scalable data pipelines and scalable and resilient cloud platform capabilities for data integration while in close collaboration with data scientists and consumers of the data to support groundbreaking therapeutics.Competencies and Qualifications:A hands-on engineer who is willing to get involved in a decision-making processExperienced in implementing data lake, lakehouse and data warehouse architectures that supports data search and integrationExperienced in operationalization of Data integration solutions with one or more of the platforms (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, Denodo, etc)Scale and build data pipelines, database/data warehouse solutions to support the movement of data between different databases and applications with appropriate data mapping.Review source data for accuracy and completeness before integrating it into the databaseCreating reports that provide details on data quality issues and suggested solutionsDesign, develop and debug ETL integration code to meet defined source to target mappingsHandle complex ETL requirements and designCreating scripts to automate data integration processes to improve efficiency and reduce human errorDesigning and implementing data security policies to protect sensitive informationTroubleshoot problems with data integration or data warehousing systemsProficiency in Spark and SQL queriesStrong experience with cloud platforms and Devops, preferably AWSGood understanding of R&D processes and scientific data life cycle is a plus.Partner with the Data Scientists to solve complex problems and create unique solutionsMust be team oriented with strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills requiredCommunicate effectively with stakeholders and members of the teamExcellent analytical, and written/verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, proactive and a team player.Degree in computer sciences or related fieldRequired Skills: MUST HAVESDeep Learning Frameworks (Tensorflow/Keras Or PyTorch)Open-source NLP libraries/implementations (NLTK, spaCy, HuggingFace, Gensim, TextBlob etc.)Knowledge of AWS suite of toolsKnowledge of NLP methods (Topic Modeling, Latent Semantic Analysis, Text Parsing, Entity/Relationship Extraction etc.)Job Description: Manage and guide data science and data engineering elements of AI/ML projects Drive the development, deployment and industrialization of Enterprise NLP engines to generate value from unstructured data for the Commercial and Medical organizations. Develop a deep understanding of customers and market dynamics, and apply your technical skills to advance that knowledge and guide the organization, delivering products that help create an integrated customer experience and drive impact. Help stakeholders define clear, impactful business priorities, and where possible, use their own expertise or existing analysis/research to influence and guide. Apply ML and applied statistics approaches to answer a variety of complex business questions using multiple data sources and technical tools. Act as subject matter expert for applicable data science and other advanced analytical methodologies, programs, and projects.
