Registered Nurse Pediatric Radiology

HealthONE, a leading healthcare provider in Denver, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Registered Nurse for Pediatric Radiology to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology procedures within our advanced pediatric radiology department. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, anesthesiologists, technologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to ensure that each child receives safe, evidence-based, and family-centered care. Responsibilities The Pediatric Radiology RN will be responsible for pre‑procedure assessment, including obtaining medical histories, evaluating pediatric patients’ physical and emotional status, verifying orders, and ensuring that all required consents and preparations are complete. You will educate patients and families about upcoming imaging or interventional procedures, explain sedation or contrast use in clear and age‑appropriate language, and address questions to help reduce anxiety. During procedures, you will monitor vital signs, administer ordered medications and IV therapies, assist with sedation in collaboration with the care team, and quickly recognize and respond to any changes in patient condition. Post‑procedure, you will provide recovery care, reassess pain and comfort levels, manage discharge teaching, and coordinate follow‑up instructions with families and referring providers. This position requires strong clinical judgment, meticulous attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to pediatric patient safety, including strict adherence to radiation safety practices and infection prevention protocols. You will document care accurately in the electronic medical record, follow established clinical pathways and radiology‑specific nursing standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
