Responsibilities Weigh vehicles entering and leaving the transfer station. Estimate volumes of small loads and assess contents. Collect established fees for dumping. Provide information and direct customers. Use personal computers for data collection, computation, reconciliation, record keeping and reporting. Qualifications and Requirements High school completion and either three (3) years of solid waste collection and disposal experience, or three (3) years of general office or accounting support work experience. Prior experience in refuse collection and/or handling of hazardous materials is desirable. Must be bondable and able to work early morning, evening, holiday and weekend shifts in a dusty, windy environment without restrictions. Within a six (6) month probationary period must complete four (4) weeks of full-time equivalent on-the-job training to assume full range of duties, certified by senior supervisory staff.
