Kitchen Food Truck Specialist

This position is responsible for the receiving, safeguarding, preparing, cooking, serving, and cleanup of food and non-food supplies in a Food Truck that will travel to assigned sites. Performance of catering and special events in support of OKCPS district and department activities. Tasks may include being assigned to school sites where needed and performance of catering and special events in support of OKCPS district and department activities.

Essential duties include preparing and serving food and beverages in accord with all federal, state, local, and CNS policies. Assists and cooperatively works with all food truck and kitchen staff in creating a harmonious working environment. Attends training courses as appropriate for continuous development of skills and successfully completes training certifications. Maintains clean and safe work environment which includes properly cleaning the mobile food truck space and all equipment. Cleans and sanitizes the cafeteria space and all equipment. Performs the duties of the Food Truck Supervisor in the absence of the Food Truck Supervisor. Assists the Food Truck Supervisor in clerical and record keeping responsibilities including menu planning and inventories. Maintains consistent punctual attendance and neat uniformed appearance. Serves breakfast, lunch, and a la carte items. Handles cashiering responsibilities including food and ticket sales and serving of ala carte items. Replenish food and maintain clean serving areas. Monitors food and equipment temperatures at all times. Exhibits courtesy and understanding to staff, students, and parents. Performs dishwashing duties of cooking, serving, and eating utensils tools. Set up and break down of serving areas. Receives, stocks, and rotates incoming and outgoing inventory. Performs preparation duties for the next day. Drives district vehicle with prepared food to assigned site. Serves during OKCPS special events, emergency response, and after school hour promotional activities. Performs other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have ServSafe Certification or ability to acquire it within sixty (60) days of hire or transfer. Possession of a valid operator's driver's license and acceptable driving record as determined to meet district motor vehicle insurance coverage requirements. Ability to work in the confined spaces of a food truck. Knowledge of food preparation, methods, procedure, and service, weights and measures, and kitchen safety and sanitation. Basic computer and math skills. Continue to develop skills and successfully complete training certifications. May be required to take additional training on food truck safety and driving instructions.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
