Production Shift Supervisor

DescriptionWeyerhaeuser is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor (Press Department) for our Evergreen Engineered Wood Products manufacturing facility located in Castleberry, Alabama. The Production Supervisor is full-time, exempt and reports to the Press Manager. The role is a front-line supervisor position responsible for the safety, production, and quality goals of the Press production team for whom the supervisor plans, execute, leads and directs the daily activities.Incumbent will be required to work a rotating shift schedule, which includes days, nights, weekends, and holidays.Key Functions:The Shift Supervisor is expected to be a role model in our safety standards and on-the-job behavior by living our core values of Integrity, Citizenship, Sustainability and Inclusion. Accountabilities include ensuring compliance with all applicable Weyerhaeuser, federal, state and local laws and regulations. The selected applicant must be committed to leading continuous improvement in safety, reliability, cost management, process improvement, production flows, contingent staffing and housekeeping.The role is responsible for:Providing daily leadership and oversight of hourly production employeesEnsuring the safe and efficient execution of workRole modeling safe work practices and facilitating team meetings & trainings with assigned teamEnsuring proper job and safety rules are understood and followedIdentifying safety, environmental, quality & production issues and incident investigation and follow-up when safety or environmental incidents occurMeeting production standards and goalsDeveloping and training associates including coaching, mentoring and performance managementSupporting training and development plans to improve skills, knowledge and team performanceSupporting the improvement of key performance indicators and continuous improvement of operational functions and for department budget cost-effectivenessLeading the team by proactively resolving employee issues, encouraging teamwork, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent mannerStaffing, recruiting and retaining talentQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED from an accredited institutionMinimum of five years management, supervisory or lead experienceStrong leadership skills that include the proven ability to coach employees to a higher level of performanceWillingness and ability to participate in safety initiatives, including exhibiting safe work practices and helping others work safelyDemonstrated experience as a results-focused problem solver with ability to work with minimal supervisionExcellent team building, problem solving, decision-making, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in and lead diverse teamsTrack record of consistently demonstrating collaborative and inclusive leadership skills as well as positive influence, with accomplishments in proactively influencing safety, quality, productivity, and people developmentAbility to provide innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and eliminate unscheduled downtimeMust be computer proficient with experience in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to work in extreme temperatures and at heights when conditions warrantMust be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays as conditions requireUploaded resume detailing work experience must be included in order to be considered for this positionThe following qualifications are preferred:Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related fieldLeadership/Management experience in an industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing equipment and processesIndustry experience within wood products ideally Plywood/Engineered lumberAbout Wood ProductsWe've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years. We want you to choose us.What We Offer:Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $69,300-$104,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 5% of base pay. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use.
