Fire Protection Designer

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Fire Protection Designer in Carrollton, GA to design comprehensive fire protection systems for commercial and industrial facilities.

Impact

• Deliver code-compliant fire protection designs that protect lives and property

• Support project teams by providing accurate drawings and calculations

• Enable efficient installations through detailed coordination and documentation

• Drive client satisfaction by delivering reliable, cost-effective fire safety solutions

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems using AutoCAD and hydraulic calculation software

• Perform hydraulic calculations and water supply analysis for sprinkler systems

• Coordinate fire protection designs with architectural and MEP systems

• Prepare submittal packages and respond to plan review comments

• Review installation drawings and field conditions for design compliance

• Conduct site surveys and assess existing fire protection infrastructure

• Support estimating teams with material takeoffs and design input

• Maintain current knowledge of NFPA codes and local fire safety requirements

Requirements
Must-Haves

• 3+ years of fire protection design experience

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and hydraulic calculation software

• Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 25 standards

• Experience with commercial and industrial sprinkler systems

• Understanding of fire pump sizing and backflow prevention

Nice-to-Haves

• NICET Level II or III Fire Protection certification

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field

• Experience with fire alarm and suppression system integration

• Knowledge of REVIT MEP for fire protection modeling
