Solar Field Service Technician 1

Your Impact As a Solar Field Service Technician (Photovoltaic Repair), you will conduct inspection and corrective maintenance of photovoltaic (PV) solar panel systems, prioritizing health, safety and environmental compliance. You will troubleshoot, test and repair solar panels, inverters and other PV components, assist with service and maintenance activities for other solar energy system components, and mentor team members. This is a 100% travel role. Core Responsibilities Troubleshoot inverters, combiner boxes and replace/repair string lines. Perform LOTO, IV Curve tracing, megger/insulation testing, and IR scans. Operate and maintain solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures. Lead by example in maintaining safety protocols and operating with professionalism. Resolve solar system problems and issues in a timely manner. Document work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules. Operate the Pearce motor vehicle safely and legally per the employee handbook and insurance requirements. Maintain company vehicle in a clean, presentable, and functional condition. Physical/Work Environment Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds). Potential rotating shifts; 100% travel required. Work indoors or outdoors in adverse weather with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses. Exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors. Core Experience 1+ years of experience on commercial and/or utility‑scale solar sites. Experience with electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs. Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and ability to apply NFPA 70E/OSHA 10 training. Proficient in troubleshooting electrical components with digital multimeters, meggers, clamp meters, and similar equipment. Able to test installed equipment and conduct daily mechanical‑electrical inspections. Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
