About the Position

Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Education
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Required Certifications

Key Clinical Skills
- Airway management, including intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
- Mechanical ventilator management, including specialized modes and weaning.
- Oxygen therapy, aerosol medication delivery, and respiratory treatments.
- Arterial punctures and ABG collection.
- Basic bedside pulmonary function testing, as needed.
- Patient monitoring and respiratory assessment.
Specialized Responsibilities (Depending on Assignment)
- Carolina Air Care: May transport pediatric and neonatal patients and perform advanced procedures such as UAC/UVC, IV and intraosseous insertion, chest tube insertion, and needle decompression.
- ECMO: May manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support.
- On-call: May be required to work on-call shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Required Education
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Required Certifications
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) through NBRC — mandatory.
