Peer Support Specialist

Position Title: Peer Support Specialist Position Type: Fixed Term (Fixed Term) About the Role: Assist peers in articulating recovery goals and learning/practicingnew skills, supporting them in their treatment and advocatingthemselves for services. Share personal recovery stories to showthat recovery is attainable. Serve as a mentor to clients to promote hope and personalempowerment . Exemplify recovery principles for clients. May assist with transportation, groups, behavioral healthproviders,MRTclasses, or care coordinators and reentryspecialists. Mentor clients . Coordinating client care . Serving as a healthcare advocate for clients . KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Good data entry skills, ability to exercise discretion, andmaintain confidentiality. Compliance with allHIPAAregulations andadhere strictly to confidentiality measures.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma and 1 year of related experience. Must have passed Kentucky Adult Peer Support Specialisttraining and received Kentucky certification.
