Join Our Team as a Production Associate

The Production Associate is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing and assembly of fresh fruit and vegetables. In this fast-paced environment, you will play a crucial role as an essential team member, adhering to all Safety Regulations, GMP, and SQF policies and procedures, as well as following PPE and hygiene policies. You will work closely with the supervisor and managers in the manufacturing area to maintain a safe and efficient production process.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

• Support and follow leadership directions with respect, ensuring adherence to the highest quality processes.
  
• Comply with all safety regulations, GMP, and SQF policies and procedures , including proper PPE usage and hygiene practices to ensure the correct assembly and production of fresh fruit and vegetables.
  
• Clean and wash fresh produce, tools, and containers using the appropriate cleaning solutions.
  
• Place cleaned raw produce onto prep tables or conveyors for further processing.
  
• Cut fresh produce and separate unused portions in accordance with established specifications.
  
• Inspect freshly cut produce to ensure it meets the specified standards.
  
• Place freshly cut produce onto the conveyor for packaging.
  
• Assemble and package fresh produce into the correct trays, containers, or other packaging.
  
• Examine filled trays or containers of fresh fruit and/or vegetables to ensure completeness and visual appeal.
  
• Weigh loose or packaged produce to confirm it meets weight specifications.
  
• Replenish packaging materials , such as boxes, tape, plastic sheets, etc., as needed.
  
• Perform housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.

• Physical Stamina : Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  
• Attention to Detail : Ensure that all food products meet quality and safety standards, with a focus on freshness, appearance, and compliance with specifications.
  
• Knowledge of Safety Standards : Familiarity with workplace safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of fresh food, and compliance with Food Safety Management Systems (GMP, SQF, etc.).
  
• PPE Compliance : Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines, including wearing gloves, masks, hairnets, and other safety gear as required.
  
• Hygiene Practices : Commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards, including proper sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure the cleanliness and safety of food production.
  
• Basic Food Handling Skills : Ability to wash, cut, and prepare fresh produce, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent contamination and preserve food quality.
  
• Teamwork and Communication : Ability to work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and managers, following instructions and maintaining clear communication.
  
• Time Management : Efficient in completing tasks within set timeframes to ensure production deadlines are met while maintaining product quality.
  
• Problem-Solving Abilities : Ability to identify and address issues with food quality, production processes, or equipment during the production cycle.
  
• Basic Math Skills : Ability to measure ingredients, weigh portions, and ensure proper packaging weights, as well as follow other production-related specifications.
  
• Adaptability : Willingness to adjust to varying production schedules, shifts, and tasks as needed.
  
• Experience with Food Production Equipment : Familiarity with basic food processing, cutting tools, packaging machines, or similar production equipment is preferred.
  
• Reliability and Punctuality : Consistent attendance and punctuality to ensure smooth production operations.
  
• Physical Dexterity : Comfortable handling food processing tools and equipment, and performing tasks such as cutting, sorting, and packaging with precision.
