Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based nursing care to ED patients across all ages, including triage, initial assessment, continuous monitoring, and re-evaluation.
- Administer medications and therapies per orders, monitor patient responses, and document in the electronic health record (EPIC).
- Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, and multidisciplinary team to coordinate care, disposition decisions, and patient flow.
- Respond to clinical emergencies, perform rapid assessments, and implement appropriate interventions for conditions such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, respiratory failure, and other critical events.
- Float to designated ED areas as assigned, maintaining unit protocols and competency requirements.
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and clear communication with patients and families; manage equipment and supply needs per unit standards.
- Adhere to documentation, infection control, and quality improvement practices; participate in shift handoffs and adherence to hospital policies.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current, active RN license in New York; Nursys verification required.
- Experience: 2+ years of ED experience; travel experience required; pediatrics experience preferred.
- Certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC required.
- EMR: EPIC experience required.
- Additional: Driver’s license with address matching demographics; RTO (time off) must be included at time of submission.
- Other: Ability to float to multiple ED areas as needed; perform duties in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
