Our in-house tax department is a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will have a background in state income tax planning, controversy and/or M&A transactions and will be comfortable modeling the cash and U.S. GAAP tax treatment of transactions.Job OverviewEmployees in this job drive value by providing support to the organization with respect to tax aspects of pending acquisitions, dispositions, financings, reorganizations, restructurings, and joint ventures, with a view to optimize taxes. Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage all aspects of various worldwide tax projects, including analyzing relevant tax law for tax planning transactions; working with foreign and domestic tax advisors to understand relevant tax rules; partnering with multiple business units to understand both domestic and foreign tax implications; and reviewing financial models to illustrate the tax consequences of various alternativesWork with Governmental Affairs, Investor Relations, and Communications to promote the Company's legislative priorities and assist with communicationsCommunicate complex technical tax issues to Senior Management and internal/external stakeholdersNegotiate, draft and review tax provisions in deal documentsPrepare and review technical tax memoranda Manage and develop team membersPerforms other job-related duties as assignedRequired QualificationsBachelor's DegreeJuris DoctorateExperience: 8+ yearsMember in Good Standing of State BarPreferred QualificationsLLM - Master of LawsNextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
