Guided Steps NJ is seeking a highly dependable, flexible, and motivated Full-Time DSP Coverage & Operations Specialist to join our growing team!

This unique hybrid role combines Direct Support Professional responsibilities with office-based operational support, making it perfect for someone who wants guaranteed hours, variety, and opportunities for growth. The role is designed to provide guaranteed full-time employment (40 hours per week) while supporting both direct service operations and other agency staffing needs

? You'll Be Our "Go-To" Coverage Specialist

The Floating DSP serves as a dedicated staffing resource for:

• Open shifts

• Call-outs

• Vacation coverage

• Emergency staffing situations

• New Start of Care (SOC) cases

• Re-staffing assignments

• Hard-to-fill cases

• Temporary service gaps

 

The employee must be willing to travel throughout the agency's service area based on operational needs. including Essex, Bergen, Morris, Passaic Counties and surrounding service areas (Union, Middlesex, and Sussex Counties).

Direct Support Professional Duties

When assigned to a case, responsibilities include:

• Providing person-centered supports

• Assisting with activities of daily living

• Supporting community integration

• Assisting with transportation and community outings

• Implementing individualized goals and support plans

• Ensuring health, safety, and well-being of individuals served

• Documenting services in accordance with agency and DDD requirements

• Maintaining professional communication with families and support teams

• Promoting independence, dignity, and choice

• Following all DDD and company policies

Office Support Responsibilities

When not actively providing direct services, the Floating DSP will assist with agency operations, including:

 

Administrative Support

• Data entry

• Scanning and filing

• General office support

• Special projects

Flexibility is required. Coverage assignments may include:

• Mornings

• Evenings

• Weekends

• Holidays

• Emergency staffing situations

No two weeks look exactly the same!

Office Support, Training, and Non-case specific hours - $20 per/hour

Direct Service/Coverage hours, applicable case rate

• Starting at $22 per/hour (non-acuity).

• Starting at $26 per hour (acuity).

Qualifications

Required

• Previous DSP experience (3 years exp)

• High School Diploma or GED

• Valid Driver's License – with less than 4 points

• Reliable vehicle

• Current Auto Insurance and Vehicle Registration

• CPR/First Aid

• Ability to travel throughout service areas

• Strong communication skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to work independently

• Flexibility/Ability to adapt to changing schedules

Preferred

• Scheduling and/or administrative experience

• HHAeXchange experience
