Job Description

Opportunity:

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with options to extend starting June 1, 2026
• Work with patient population ages 13 through end of life
• Schedule options: 4x10-hour shifts per week or 3x12-13 hour shifts each week plus 1 rotating Saturday each month
• No call required
• All time off requests must be made upfront
• Time off requests exceeding 5 consecutive days will not be approved during summer months
• Practice locations include main OR, outpatient surgery center, and endoscopy center
• Coverage includes 33 ORs in main OR, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and 3-4 stand-alone GI center rooms
• All CRNA scope of practice skills required
• Cases exclude open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, and peripheral nerve blocks
• Minimum 2 years experience required, preferably with academic background and Level 1 or 2 trauma experience
• Experience working with ASA 3+ patients preferred
• Virginia license required
• ACLS & BLS certifications required (must be valid and completed through AHA)
• Board certification required
• Must live 50+ miles from facility
• Epic EMR experience preferred

This 600-bed Level 1 trauma center operates as a major academic medical center with a comprehensive anesthesia department. The facility features 60 CRNAs working alongside 70 attending anesthesiologists and 60 anesthesia residents, providing coverage across multiple locations including main operating rooms, outpatient surgery centers, and specialized procedure areas. The organization emphasizes advanced trauma care and maintains extensive surgical capabilities across inpatient and outpatient settings.
