This role is responsible for managing daily site activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.**Key Responsibilities:*** Supervise and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, and construction activities* Plan and manage daily operations, including scheduling, manpower, equipment, and materials* Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements* Monitor project progress and adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines and budgets* Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients to ensure project success* Review plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure work is performed correctly* Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality control standards* Lead and participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and jobsite briefings* Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and documentation* Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays and cost impacts**Qualifications:*** 5–10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (earthwork, structures, utilities, paving, etc.)* Proven experience in a Superintendent or leadership role* Strong knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and safety practices* Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills* OSHA 30 certification preferred* Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required**Preferred Experience:*** Experience with DOT, municipal, or large infrastructure projects* Background working with unions and managing union labor* Familiarity with project management and scheduling software**Physical Requirements:*** Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions* Ability to walk on uneven terrain and stand for extended periods* Ability to lift to 50 pounds as needed**Why Join Ames Construction:*** Competitive pay and benefits package* Opportunities for career growth and advancement* Strong safety culture and team-oriented environment* Work on high-profile, impactful infrastructure projectsAmes Construction is an equal opportunity employer.
