Chaplain Associate

Job Summary Location: Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV). Shift: Rotation (United States of America). Scheduled weekly hours: 0. Worker type: Regular. Exemption status: No. Offers spiritual and emotional support directly to patients and their families, caregivers, and team members. Responsible for assisting with organization of daily activities as assigned. Responsibilities Attend interdisciplinary team conferences, support meetings, and other meetings as appropriate. Assess each patient, family member, and caregiver for spiritual needs and concerns in consultation with other team members. Provide direct chaplaincy services (when accepted) to patients, family members, and caregivers of different philosophies and religious perspectives. Consult, if requested by patient or family, the patient’s clergy of choice and advise them on admission. Document all visits and phone calls in the electronic medical record within an appropriate time frame. Provide consultation, counsel, and support to other team members as appropriate. Assist with training programs and in-service education as requested. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) – required. Certification/License: One Unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (default issuing body). Ordination/Commissioning or Ecclesiastical Endorsement (default issuing body).
