Senior Payroll CoordinatorThe Senior Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for all payroll related functions and provide support to all payroll related needs for the organization. The Senior Payroll Coordinator responsibilities include processing timesheets, updating payroll records and answering employee questions about payments.Full end to end payroll processing to ensure the accurate processing of wage payments to exempt and nonexempt staffProcess attendance records and other documents (e.g. W-2 and tax forms)Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in orderCoordinate with HR about changes in payroll (e.g. terminations, new hires)Oversee electronic payments and distribution of payroll checksProcess other financial compensations or deductions (e.g. annual bonuses, severance pay, taxes, worker's compensation)Answer payroll-related questions from employeesInteracts with internal and external auditors; provides access to payroll and other related records as requiredMaintains records for annual worker's compensation auditsAudits and maintains sick/annual leave records for all eligible employeesCompiles and maintains data necessary to calculate and process payments for annual /sick leave payoff upon terminationProcesses termination documents and final checksSorts, prioritizes, reviews for accuracy and processes incoming payroll/personnel documentsComplete calendar year-end processing of payroll, including supplemental payrolls, W-2 and other tax formsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma4+ years of payroll experienceHands-on experience with payroll software/HRIS; Lawson and Kronos system experience preferredExperience in Microsoft tools required: Outlook, Word, ExcelKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to provide accurate and efficient service under the stress of constant deadlinesKnowledge of high-volume, multi-state payroll systems, processes, and proceduresKnowledge of public institution personnel/payroll practices and proceduresKnowledge and understanding of payroll documentation procedures and requirementsSkill in the use of personal computers and related software applicationsAbility to analyze and solve problemsKnowledge of federal and state tax lawsAbility to understand and process complex paperworkKnowledge of procedures and standards for check processingStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to audit and maintain financial records
