Salary offers are negotiated individually based on these factors.SUMMARY OF POSITIONThis role is pivotal in designing, organizing, and executing comprehensive, city-wide programs and activities that bring our community to life. Operating with a high degree of autonomy under the guidance of the Parks and Public Facilities Director, this position lead s a dedicated team of professionals to deliver exceptional recreational experiences, events, and opportunities for City of Richland residents of all ages.Click here to review the full job description for this position.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATIONThis is a full-time, in-person position with a typical Monday–Friday schedule of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. While standard office hours apply, this role requires occasional availability for evening and weekend community events, programs, and meetings. To help balance this, flexible scheduling options, including a 9/80 schedule with alternating Fridays off, may be available upon approval.This position is open until filled, with first consideration given to those applicants who apply prior to August 17, 2026.Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable) , and an interview process. The f inal candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference check commensurate to the position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Associates/technical degree in Recreation , or related fieldThree ( 3 ) years of experience i n recreation programmingTwo (2) years in a supervisory roleAny equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Valid driver’s licenseObtain First Aid, CPR, Defibrillator Certifications within three (3) months of hireDESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSCertified Parks & Recreation Professional (CPRP)Certified Pool Operator/Aquatic Facilities Operator (CPO/AFO)Experience with management of aquatics facilitiesBachelor’s degree in Recreation Management or equivalent related degree programWE ARE RICHLANDAt the City of Richland, your work makes a difference every day.
