Emergency Medicine Physician

Fauquier Health is seeking a board-certified intensivist physician to join our established critical care team in Warrenton, Virginia, on a PRN basis. The intensivist will provide comprehensive care for critically ill adult patients in the intensive care setting, collaborating closely with hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians, specialists, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities: Provide expert evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)Perform and oversee critical care procedures including, but not limited to, central venous catheter placement, arterial line insertion, endotracheal intubation, and ventilator managementDevelop and implement evidence-based treatment plans for patients with complex medical conditions and acute critical illnessesCoordinate multidisciplinary care with consulting physicians, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and case management teamsRespond to rapid response and code situations as requiredParticipate in quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiencyMaintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic medical recordCommunicate effectively with patients and family members regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, goals of care, and prognosisSupport hospital and department policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirementsRequired Qualifications:Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)Board certification or board eligibility in critical care medicineEligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in the Commonwealth of VirginiaDEA registration and eligibility for hospital credentialing and privilegingDemonstrated expertise in managing critically ill adult patientsPreferred Qualifications:Fellowship training in critical care medicine, pulmonary and critical care medicine, or related specialtyExperience in community hospital and multidisciplinary ICU settingsStrong leadership, communication, and teamwork skillsInterested in learning more?
