This position is a Pay Band C11 Why does the job exist? This position provides specialized nursing care to include medication administration, electrocardiogram's (EKG's) and taking vital signs for adult patients with chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders. Incumbent will provide supervision to nurses and nursing support staff at Turquoise Lodge Hospital. How does it get done? Incumbent will provide supervision to nurses and nursing support staff at Turquoise Lodge Hospital. Who are the customers? Adult who present with substance misuse and co-occurring disorders. Ideal Candidate Experience providing nursing services and supervising nursing staff. Minimum Qualification Must possess a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New Mexico, or eligibility for such licensure in accordance with New Mexico requirements, or eligibility for a temporary license issued for employment at a specific institution in New Mexico and five (5) years of experience as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of the classification. Employment Requirements This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Employment is subject to nationwide criminal background check and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Certification from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive a Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Working Conditions This position will provide services in an acute care hospital setting involving extended periods of walking, sitting, standing, and bending. Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Incumbent may be exposed to potentially violent patients in volatile situations requiring crisis interventions. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and lifting and/or transfer of patients with or without assistance, using proper lifting and transfer techniques may be required.
