Position SummaryState of the Art Healing is seeking a dependable, experienced HVAC Contractor to provide installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout our facilities.The ideal contractor will have strong hands-on HVAC experience, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and workmanship. This position will play an important role in ensuring our facilities remain safe, comfortable, functional, and properly maintained for our clients, staff, and visitors.ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems and equipment.Perform preventative maintenance on heating and cooling systems.Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational HVAC issues.Respond to HVAC service requests and prioritize urgent heating and cooling concerns.Repair or replace HVAC components, including thermostats, filters, belts, motors, fans, compressors, capacitors, coils, and other system components as appropriate.Inspect HVAC equipment for signs of wear, damage, leaks, or potential system failures.Maintain proper heating, cooling, ventilation, and indoor air quality throughout company facilities.Perform seasonal inspections and prepare HVAC systems for extreme temperatures.Troubleshoot temperature-control and thermostat issues.Assist with installation and replacement of HVAC equipment when needed.Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, maintenance, and materials used.Communicate repair recommendations, equipment concerns, and potential replacement needs to company leadership.Provide estimates and communicate anticipated costs before beginning work outside the approved scope.Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly dispose of materials and debris.Coordinate with other contractors or vendors when repairs require additional trade expertise.Respond to emergency HVAC issues when necessary.Perform work in accordance with applicable safety requirements, manufacturer specifications, and local codes.Facility & Workplace ExpectationsBecause State of the Art Healing provides behavioral health and recovery services, the HVAC Contractor must:Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while working around clients, staff, and visitors.Respect client privacy and confidentiality.Maintain appropriate professional boundaries within treatment and residential environments.Follow all facility safety policies and procedures.Communicate with staff before entering restricted or client-occupied areas.Minimize disruption to clinical and residential operations whenever possible.Immediately report safety hazards, property damage, or other significant concerns to designated leadership.QualificationsProven experience working with residential and/or commercial HVAC systems.Strong knowledge of heating, cooling, ventilation, and HVAC control systems.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and diagnose HVAC problems.Proficiency with common HVAC tools and equipment.Ability to read and understand equipment specifications, manuals, and basic system diagrams.Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple service requests.Strong communication and customer-service skills.Reliable transportation and ability to travel between State of the Art Healing facilities as needed.Ability to safely perform physically demanding HVAC work.Preferred QualificationsHVAC certification or applicable trade license.EPA 608 certification.Experience with commercial HVAC systems.Experience with rooftop units, split systems, package units, heat pumps, boilers, or other commercial equipment.Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, residential treatment, recovery, or other commercial facilities.Experience performing preventative maintenance programs.Familiarity with local building, mechanical, and safety codes.Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in confined or elevated spaces.Ability to safely climb and work from ladders and elevated platforms.Ability to lift and carry HVAC equipment, tools, and materials.Ability to work indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions.Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, crawl spaces, and other areas associated with HVAC equipment.Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.Contractor ExpectationsProvide reliable, timely, and professional HVAC services.Maintain all required licenses, certifications, insurance, and permits applicable to the work being performed.Supply appropriate tools and equipment necessary to complete assigned work.Obtain approval before performing work outside the agreed-upon scope.Clearly communicate project timelines, material requirements, unexpected issues, and repair recommendations.Complete work safely, efficiently, and according to professional HVAC standards.Leave work areas clean and safe upon completion.Maintain accurate documentation of services performed.Position TypeIndependent ContractorWork schedule and service requests may vary based on facility needs.
