Position Summary

We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Shift Supervisor to join our manufacturing plant team. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and performance of a designated production shift, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. Your strong leadership skills and manufacturing expertise will play a vital role in maintaining efficient operations and driving continuous improvement.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of production operators, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Responsible for the overall performance of the shift, including productivity, product quality, and adherence to safety regulations.
• Set daily production goals and priorities and effectively communicate these to the team.
• Monitor production processes and identify potential areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and quality control measures.
• Collaborate with other supervisors and cross-functional teams to optimize production flow and resolve any operational issues.
• Train and develop production operators, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date production records, including shift reports, production logs, and inventory tracking.
• Participate in the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among the team.
• Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize production output.
• Assist in hiring and onboarding new team members as needed.
• Key member of plant emergency response team.

Education and Experience

Bachelors Preferred/High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational education in a relevant field is preferred.

Proven experience as a Shift Supervisor, preferably in a manufacturing plant or similar environment.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices for operational efficiency.

Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.

Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to effectively handle challenges and resolve conflicts.

Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Proficient in using computer systems and software for data entry, reporting, and analysis.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

Strong communication abilities with all levels of the operations.
