On-Call Substitute Pool
Positions: 2 Associate Level / 2 Assistant Level

The Substitute Teacher assumes responsibility for supporting the development, care, and education of children while modeling developmentally appropriate practices and adhering to agency policies. CYW is a high-quality, play-based child development program accredited through Quality Matters. In this role, you will help ensure a safe, nurturing environment that meets both Title 5 and Title 22 regulations while fostering strong, collaborative partnerships with families.

• Schedule: On-Call / As Needed (Minimum hours per month required)
• The Role: Provide flexible coverage across 3 locations. Maintain high standards of care and assist with classroom routines on an as-needed basis.
• Ability to model best practices, mentor staff, and provide consistent guidance.
• Must be able to start within 3 weeks with Live Scan completed (reimbursed after 90 days).
• Willing to work at any of the CYW school sites as needed.
• Willing to work occasional overtime as needed.

Associate Pay Range: $27-29

Assistant Pay Range: $25-27

 

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, traverse the workspace, and position oneself at a low level (including floor level) to interact with the children we serve. The employee must be able to use hands and arms to operate equipment and reach. The ability to observe and identify details at close and far range is required. This role requires the ability to exchange accurate information with others.

Environment: Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings. The noise level is usually moderate.

Requirements:

• Requirements: Minimum 6 ECE units (Assistant) AND 6 months experience, or Minimum 12 ECE units (Associate) AND 6 months experience. Paperwork and Live Scan must be completed prior to being added to the pool.
