Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated professional to work in a community hospice setting. This position involves both mid and day shifts, primarily from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with occasional coverage during the day from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM as needed. The selected candidate will visit local nursing facilities to provide hospice care support.

Requirements

• BLS Certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• Acceptance of first-time travelers

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient in recognizing abnormal and normal vital sign parameters for adults and pediatrics
• Experience with various patient care activities such as bathing, hygiene, and assistance with mobility
• Ability to assist with feeding, turning, and repositioning patients
• Familiarity with hospital beds, specialty beds, and Hoyer lifts
• Knowledge of infection control practices, including donning and doffing PPE
• Experience in routine catheter care (indwelling and external catheters)
• Capable of measuring and recording vital signs and patient outputs
• Competent in handling specialized equipment like oxygen tanks and incentive spirometers
• Strong communication skills for reporting changes in patient condition
• Ability to support interdisciplinary care with services such as social services and interpretation

Work Environment

This position primarily involves providing care for adult and geriatric patients, with a daily census of approximately 170 and an average of 6 patient visits per day.

Certification Requirements

• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross certifications accepted

Location

This position is located in a community hospice setting in New Hampshire.

Additional Information

Travelers are expected to float based on unit needs. Drug screening must be completed within 14 days before the start date.
