Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Stanford University is seeking an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator Associate (aCRC) to support 4–6 clinical research studies on-site under the supervision of the principal investigator or study supervisor. The position may involve investigator-initiated surveys, registries, biospecimen collection, and industry-sponsored drug or device trials. The aCRC will assist with study coordination, data collection, and administrative tasks while ensuring regulatory compliance. Duties Schedule and contact subjects for appointments; provide reminders and coordinate logistics. Prepare, distribute, and process questionnaires. Perform clerical tasks related to regulatory documents; maintain consent forms, master subject logs, and file correspondence. Assist with screening, recruiting, and obtaining consent of study participants; review medical records and conduct telephone or in-person interviews to gather data. Administer standard study questionnaires and tests; score and code data for computer entry; perform quantitative review of forms, tests, and measurements for completeness and accuracy. Extract data from source documents; collect data and complete case report forms. Perform basic measurements and tests (vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG) and collect study specimens per protocol. Prepare, process, and ship specimens/samples accurately under well-defined requirements. Order and maintain equipment and supplies. Process study compensation payments and prepare thank‑you letters; assist with post‑study activities. Desired Qualifications Four‑year college degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General knowledge of medical terminology. Certifications & Licenses Working toward certification(s) to perform basic patient measurements and tests, such as phlebotomy and EKG. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and use fine light/fine grasping. Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk‑based computer tasks, use a telephone, write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 40 pounds. Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork, or lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 40 pounds or more. Working Conditions May require working with hazardous materials, exposure to chemicals, blood, body fluids, or contagious diseases. May require extended or unusual work hours. Compensation The expected pay range for this position is $29.44 to $33.26 per hour . Base pay is one aspect of the comprehensive rewards package.
