Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical unit managing common diagnoses including sepsis, CHF, stroke, pneumonia, hypoxia, and post-surgical patients
• Manage and monitor patients with wounds, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and tube feedings including NG tubes and drains
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–6 based on patient acuity
• Monitor telemetry via Philips telemetry system; read strips as needed on the unit
• Manage patients on BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and Airvo equipment (no titration of O2 required)
• Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements; every other weekend and every other holiday required

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency with NG tubes, drains, feeding tubes, and tube feedings
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts including rotating weekends and holidays
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification
• Experience reading telemetry strips
• Prior Medical-Surgical nursing experience with high-acuity patient populations
