. This is a contract, on-site opportunity within a dedicated Medical Practice environment, offering a unique chance to provide essential psychiatric care to diverse patient populations.

As a Locum Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with mental health conditions. You will work closely with our clinical team to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based care in a supportive and fast-paced setting. Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as appropriate
• Provide both short-term and long-term psychiatric care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, and primary care physicians
• Document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in case reviews and clinical consultations
• Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options
• Ensure compliance with medical and legal regulations
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of psychiatric practices and treatments

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Valid and unrestricted medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
• Board certification or board eligibility in Psychiatry
• Completed residency training in Psychiatry
• Associate-level experience in psychiatric care
• Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Compassion and empathy in patient interactions
• Willingness to work on-site in Newport

Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-5p)

1:4 beeper call rotation, evenings and weekends

Setting: Outpatient

Daily Volume: 12-14 patients

Patient Population: Primarily young adults and geriatrics, ages 18+

Case Types: Addiction medicine and substance abuse

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
