Locums - Reading, Pennsylvania | Psychiatry Opportunity

Seeking an Adult Psychiatrist for a 6-month locums opportunity in Reading, Pennsylvania. The physician will provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care for adults with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.

Schedule & Coverage

• Coverage Dates: September 28, 2026-March 28, 2027
• Schedule: Monday-Friday
• Hours: 8:00 am-5:00 pm
• Duration: Approximately 6 months

Practice Setting & Patient Population

• General Adult Psychiatry
• Adult inpatient population
• Provide care throughout admission, treatment, and discharge

Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for new inpatient admissions
• Provide daily psychiatric follow-up and discharge planning
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric conditions using evidence-based practices
• Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans
• Provide psychopharmacologic management
• Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and patient response
• Provide crisis intervention, stabilization, and de-escalation
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
• Participate in quality improvement and ongoing professional development activities

Collaboration & Care Coordination

• Collaborate with nursing, social work, psychology, primary care, and other clinical disciplines
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and care coordination
• Adhere to applicable ethical, legal, regulatory, and organizational standards of care

Requirements

• Active state medical license required
