Location: Denver, CO (hybrid, in-office)

Salary: $65,000-75,000 / year DOE

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support core accounting operations and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial records. This role is responsible for maintaining accounting documentation, reconciling financial accounts, tracking fixed assets, preparing property tax filings, and supporting daily accounting activities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles, works well independently, and can manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain financial documentation, schedules, and reports to support accurate accounting records and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of property tax declarations, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and submitted within required deadlines.
• Maintain fixed asset records, including tracking asset additions, disposals, and other changes, while ensuring records remain current and accurate.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations, research discrepancies, and coordinate necessary adjustments to maintain accurate balances.
• Record financial transactions and enter accounting data into the appropriate systems, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper classification.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, supporting accurate financial reporting and adherence to established accounting procedures.
• Monitor and process routine accounting transactions, ensuring financial activity is documented and recorded in a timely manner.
• Review financial records and supporting documentation to identify inconsistencies, resolve outstanding items, and maintain reliable accounting data.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities, including account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other assigned close-related tasks.
• Collaborate with the finance team and senior accounting personnel on ongoing projects, reporting needs, and process improvements.
• Provide general accounting support as needed, helping ensure departmental deadlines, operational priorities, and financial reporting requirements are met.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related.
• 4+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or business environment.
• Experience with general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and routine accounting transactions.
• Familiarity with fixed asset accounting and property tax reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate financial information professionally.
