Job DescriptionHarborview's Medical Respite Program (Edward Thomas House Medical Respite) has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse.WORK SCHEDULEPart-time80% FTEM-Th 8-1630Department SummaryHarborview's Medical Respite Program (Edward Thomas House Medical Respite) is a program that provides recuperative care to people experiencing homelessness who are too sick to return to the shelter or streets, but do not require a hospital level of care.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESScreen and triage referrals from King County hospitals for Medical Respite admissionCoordinate with referring facilities and Respite staff to complete referral documentationDetermine patient eligibility for admissionFacilitate and coordinate patient transfers to the Respite programDemonstrate strong multitasking, attention to detail, and communication skillsProvide direct nursing care within the clinic setting as neededPerform wound care and PICC line managementSupport case management activities in collaboration with interdisciplinary teamsREQUIREMENTSCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of WashingtonMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience (including wound care, PICC line management, and case management)At least 1 year of experience working with homeless and/or safety-net populationsABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTERAs the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
