Mechanical Design Engineer

Design Engineer – Lako (ProMach) Our engineers design custom packaging equipment, work closely with customers and cross‑functional teams, and pursue continuous improvement across multiple packaging segments. Responsibilities Design, develop, and support engineered components, assemblies, tooling, or systems using CAD software (primarily SolidWorks). Create, review, and maintain detailed engineering drawings, models, and documentation with appropriate tolerances and specifications. Evaluate existing designs and processes to identify opportunities for quality, cost, manufacturability, and efficiency improvements. Support production by troubleshooting engineering, manufacturing, or assembly issues and implementing corrective actions. Collaborate with machining, assembly, quality, and supply‑chain teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable. Participate in new product development, reverse engineering, and custom solutions based on customer requirements. Use precision measuring tools to validate designs and ensure compliance with specifications. Maintain engineering data within ERP and document control systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts. Support training, documentation, and knowledge transfer as needed. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline or equivalent, preferred. 6 months to 3 years of engineering experience, preferred. Proficient in SolidWorks and/or Autodesk Inventor. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills, including word processing, data analysis, and spreadsheet applications. Ability to work in a team‑oriented environment.
