Title
Registered Nurse - Variable Med-Surg Unit with Cardiac and Neurology Focus

Schedule
Shift: 12-hour nights, 18:45 - 07:15
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend

Assignment Details
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours offered

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years clinical RN experience required
- BCLS (BLS) certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Preferred: ACLS certification
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- IV starts, peripheral/central line care
- Management of cardiac drips as per unit guidelines
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Competency in use of Rapid Response/Code teams and isolation/PPE precautions

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric populations, including stroke, cardiac, post/pre-cath, and telemetry patients.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding health issues and care plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the EMR system.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation includes 2x12-hour shifts on the unit and a hospital orientation week.
- Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (no holidays).
- All RTO must be pre-approved; no RTO during the first week.
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
- Scrubs: Navy and white combinations acceptable.
- COVID-19 vaccine not required; flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed).
