RN - Intermediate Care Unit, Days

Overview The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse functions within the organization’s policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, maintains standards of practice, and coordinates patient care activities for all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care. Responsibilities - Deliver direct patient care and apply nursing interventions across all age groups within the hospital. - Coordinate and supervise patient care activities of assigned staff. - Adhere to the organization’s policies, procedures, and quality standards. - Document patient assessments, plans, interventions, and evaluations accurately and timely. - Identify, report, and provide appropriate protective measures for high‑risk situations such as abuse, neglect, or potential abduction. Qualifications Education Graduate from a nursing program – Required Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred Work Experience No experience required; New graduates of a nursing program eligible – Required Nursing experience in a hospital setting – Preferred 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions – Required Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Georgia State Licensure or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure – Current and required BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BCLS) – Required Additional Licenses and Certifications Advanced certification in specialty field, if applicable (see addendum) Cardiac Tele: ACLS certification within 180 days of start date Critical Care: ACLS certification within 180 days of start date Dialysis: Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) – preferred Emergency Department: ACLS and PALS certification within 180 days of start date; experienced nurses have 6 months to obtain PALS Infusion/Oncology: Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required upon hire Pediatrics: PALS certification required; PEARS or PALS at specific hospitals – within 180 days of start date Surgical Services: Pre‑Op/PACU/ENDO/CSU ACLS; PALS if patient pediatric – within 180 days of start date; BLS only within 180 days – required Women’s Services: Labor and Delivery ACLS; NRP by end of orientation; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 12 months; NRP requirements for various units – within 180 days of start date #J-18808-Ljbffr
