Rigid Forming Operator - 3rd shift

The Rigid Forming Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining thermoforming equipment in a manufacturing environment, ensuring product quality meets customer specifications while following safety protocols and production standards. Direction is usually received from the Shift Supervisor. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate equipment including thermoformers, vacuum lifts, forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, micrometers, dials, or calibrated scales. Operate multiple thermoforming lines simultaneously. Identify machine issues and troubleshoot to resolve malfunctions and maintain production schedules. Monitor and document product quality by auditing process parameters, taking measurements, and analyzing quality data. Perform basic operator preventive maintenance to avoid shutdowns. Conduct product sampling and quality data entry to ensure specifications are met. Read and follow production schematics to produce products in line with design and manufacturing standards. Execute Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment with required certification. Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Stable work history. Previous manufacturing experience (preferred). Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts (preferred). Experience with industry standard pneumatic and electrical tools. Experience with Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures. Required Skills Basic computer proficiency, including email. Accurate reading and use of measuring tools. Ability to read and follow production schematics. Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. Mechanical aptitude. Time‑management skills. Math and measurement skills. Attention to detail. Good communication skills. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required. Additional Requirements Must be at least 18 years old. Must pass pre‑employment assessments, drug screening, and background check. Physical Demands Lift and move up to 65pounds. Climb, kneel, bend, and squat. Graceful grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skills. Climb ladders safely. Stand and walk for extended periods. Wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses). Have or obtain forklift and motorized pallet jack certification. Travel Requirements None. Work Conditions The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise levels above 85dB, complex machinery, solvents, fumes and inks, and variable temperatures. Shift work may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Hours & Compensation Scheduled hours are 11pm to 7am with an additional $2.50 per hour premium for hours worked between 7pm and 7am. Hours outside that window receive no premium.
