Job Title Research Faculty – Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Critical Care & Burn (Open Rank/Track) Position Overview The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek a PhD or MD/PhD researcher to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma, Critical Care, and Burn. The role is open rank/track and will be placed at a rank commensurate with the applicant’s academic record and experience. The successful candidate will contribute to a cohesive coagulopathy program, collaborate with leaders in hematology and transfusion medicine, and be responsible for securing and maintaining NIH R01 or equivalent funding. Duties and Responsibilities Conceptualize, plan, design, implement, and conduct research studies in the area of coagulopathy in trauma and surgical patients. Write and publish research in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed scientific journals. Develop and submit grant proposals to secure extramural funding (NIH R01 or equivalent). Serve as Principal Investigator or Co‑Investigator on sponsored research grants. Mentor junior scientists, doctoral and postdoctoral students, medical students, residents, and fellow trainees. Participate in division, department, college, and university committees and initiatives. Requirements PhD or MD/PhD in an applicable field. Postdoctoral research experience in basic science research. Proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in peer‑reviewed journals. Current, active extramural grant funding equivalent to NIH R01. Academic experience is a plus. Qualified for an academic appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level; rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.
