HOUSEKEEPER I - JONES COUNTY REST HOMEHousekeeper IEVS DepartmentPRNThe Housekeeper I plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position is responsible for performing a variety of environmental services duties, including cleaning and sanitizing resident rooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas to support infection prevention and overall resident well-being. The Housekeeper I helps ensure the facility meets cleanliness and safety standards while contributing to a positive experience for all individuals within the Jones County Rest Home.Minimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredAbility to read, write, and understand verbal and written communicationPreferred QualificationsPrevious housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably in a healthcare settingCertification or training in infection control preferredExperience using commercial cleaning equipment and cleaning chemicalsEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform routine cleaning and sanitization of resident rooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, and common areasFollow established infection control and safety proceduresEnsure cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and stored properlyReport maintenance concerns, equipment issues, and safety hazards promptlyAssist with stocking and organizing cleaning supplies and equipmentMaintain cleanliness standards throughout the facilitySupport a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staffWork independently while completing assigned housekeeping dutiesAssist with orientation and training of new personnel as assignedPhysical RequirementsFrequently required to walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform overhead liftingAbility to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs independently and more than 50 lbs with assistancePush and pull carts, cleaning equipment, and supplies throughout the facilityAbility to work with cleaning chemicals and environmental services equipmentExposure to healthcare and long-term care environmentsVisual acuity, hearing, and communication abilities sufficient to safely perform housekeeping dutiesAll candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position.
