Support the DON in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities. Oversight and serve as a resource to the direct care staff. Direct patient care when necessary and/or assigned. Protect residents and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations. Document resident care services by charting in patient and department records. Promote continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
